Barclaycard is Not an advocate for customer dispute
1
Case# DP2219565 Disputed a transaction made at a local tourist shop while traveling on a cruise ship. Purchase merchandise only to find out once back on the cruise ship it was counterfeit. Called Barclaycard claims to dispute a $187.49 transaction. They ask me to provide additional documentation that the items were counterfeit and I did. The transaction was temporarily suspended as 5/24/18. However, a month and a half later, the transaction appeared again. When I called back to ask why, they communicated that I had not returned the merchandise. I stated that no one from Barclaycard or the merchant had requested that I return the merchandise. This subject had not been communicated as part of the initial dispute. I then asked could I then reopen the dispute. Barclaycard respresentative (7/16/18) stated they had sent me a letter and hung up. I'm disappointed in the customer service and the fact I believe I do not have an advocate in regards to Barclaycards. I believe Im the victim, but my credit card company is treating me as though I did something wrong.
