I cancelled my membership months ago and read that it was a one time payment when I joined. I am still getting charged. Please explain why

I canceled my membership online and still had the membership fee taken out of my bank account.I tried calling many times and they were always closed. User’s recommendation: Don’t use this website. They do illegal withdrawals from your bank account.
