Thermostat broke will not honor warrenty

Brand-new home got CO 7/1/2020 thermostat stopped working 6/2021. Manufacturer date 3/2020 would not honor warranty because I don’t have receipt. Builder bought it and installed with new house. Can prove less than a year in use – DO NOT BUY HONEYWELL WHEN THEY WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THERE PRODUCT User’s recommendation: BUY ANOTHER MANUFACTUERER PRODUCT.
