Pay 25% more in Rush if you are a woman
I would like to raise a complaint towards Rush's discriminatory pricing policy. I am a woman and I do have short hair pixie style, which would be equivalent to an average male hair cut. When scrolling through the online booking I have been placed on the dilemma to whether book a "gents" or ladies" haircut, realising that the "ladies" were 25% more expensive on average. I have taken the time to call one of your establishments and they have explained that it does not matter the length of your hair or haircut that you may require, but being a man or a woman will determine the price that you pay for the services. This is not only an absurd policy but a clear discrimination against women's rights. Your prices should not be based on the gender/sex of a person but on the kind of service that they require from you. Believe or not, in 2018 there are women with short hair and even men who have long hair. To your detriment, these men would be paying less for a supposedly more costly job. Additionally, there are variety of people who identify as trans, non-binary, genderqueer, etc. and your dated and non inclusive marketing tools are potentially reducing the number of clients that you will be getting as they are ought to make a decision and will potentially be shamed in your establishments if your staff considers that they have made the wrong choice in terms of their identification as a "lady" or a "gent". I urge you to revise this policy and the way in which your company and website operates. I wait for an answer to your earliest convenience and I am happy to escalate this issue to the media if necessary.
