After having treatment to reduce a hypo tropic scar that was bestowed upon me by a surgeon who should be stripped of his license, I was finally able to have the scar color restored through cosmetic tattooing. I scheduled a free consultation with the owner of The Permanent Cosmetics Studio in Chadds Ford, PA. She inspected my scar and told me that it would take two sessions (with a two-week interval), $150 each session. She assured me that it would be a very easy procedure. So, I scheduled a time for the first procedure and was very excited. The day of the first treatment, I noticed that she advertised for several cosmetic surgeons in the area as well as the LightStim, which interested me. I asked her about LightStim and I also asked her about the Dermawand and PDO threads. She told me that the Dermawand was similar to the LightStim. She recommended both and admitted she used both. I know that Dermawand does not claim to be LED light therapy. I also know from personal experience that the company which sells the Dermawand (ICTV) practices egregious business practices. They have shipped previously used instruments as new, they claim the people who have returned the instrument had not done so, they also claim that the item was dropped with no proof. ICTV promises that if you do not love the product after 30 days, you can return it with ‘no’ out-of-pocket expense; all of which is a lie. I tried to explain this to the owner, but she always talked over me. After beginning the tattoo process the owner of the shop stopped the treatment and told me she thought it was going to involve more specialized treatment. She wanted to see how the area (which was not much more than a dot) would react and told me to return in a month. Her tone was quite different on my second appointment that the consultation. She charged me $45, which I paid and I knew I was never going to return to her office. The owner also adamantly advised that I avoid PDO threads and recommended a face lift! I am writing this because if anyone is told one thing and then there is a total turn around in attitude, RUN FOR THE NEAREST DOOR!
