Trying to turn in truck

A friend rented a truck yesterday. Because all he had was temporary drivers license, I had to put in mine. He was arrested last night and I have returned truck. I have no way of contacting you to give mileage, gas level or anything. He only put 17 mi User's recommendation: Never rent on a Saturday with Sunday turn in.
