I purchased quite a bit of Stickley furniture when I bought my house. I always thought that Stickley was of the highest quality, that's why I furnished my house with their products. For the prices they charge you would expect their products to be higher quality, but they are not. 1. The Stickley Torchiere Lamp With Art Glass Shade is a wonderful looking floor lamp. It is touch sensitive for turning on and off. That mechanism only works half the time so I have to resort to unscrewing the bulb to get the light to turn off and then screw it back in to turn the light on half the time. 2. The Stickley Mantel Shelf Clock's quartz mechanism burns through batteries 4 times as fast as the cheap quartz clock I have on the kitchen wall. I will have to replace that mechanism because the batteries run out so fast that I don't change them anymore so now the clock sits there not telling time. 3. The Stickley lamp stand has stain/lacquer drip marks running down a leg of the stand. 4. On the Dining room chairs with wood inlay the seat that sits inside the wood frame are built with layers of cardboard instead of wood so eventually over time the seat will fold/bend and fall through the frame. I had to replace the thick cardboard with actual wood to make it stronger. 5. On the Bow Arm Morris Recliner (a very comfortable recliner) the portion of the chair that raises your legs as you recline is made out of particle board. So over time (15yrs) the screws work their way out and you have to switch to a larger size screw to fix. In time that too will probably have to be replaced with real wood.
