March 18, 2021 Steak N Shake Attn: Human Resources & Complaint Division Dear Mr. Lucas, Subject Line: Action Needed: Urgent As of March 3, 2021, I was writing this letter because I was not getting any resolution with Store #31, General Manager, Kim Fowler and I'm reporting this claim so that I can get some help. These are my issues: • My hours were cut from 42, 24, to 4 hours a week due to discrimination • As of March 2, 2021, I was not put on the schedule at all for the entire week • I was working in a hostile work environment • I did not feel safe or valued in my position I have more documentation to present as proof that this was personal retaliation and discrimination. I would like to keep my position with Steak N' Shake, however, I was given the opportunity to transfer to a different store but the general manager and store manager would not allow me to transfer. Also, working at this new location it would be a better fit for me and because my mother is sick and I'm currently living with her. The downtown location would work best for me and put me closer to where I'm currently living. I would like to ask that this matter be investigated and resolved so that I can either be put back on the schedule to work at a different store. On March 4, after several attempts to contact someone, I received a text from Daniela the store manager who informed me that she could not provide me with my W2 and that I was no longer employed with Steak N Shake. Lastly, on March 8 I received a call from the Steak N Shake complaint line from a young lady who I do not recall her name and she took a report but I have not heard back from her and it's been over two weeks.
