So we hired Kenny Seabolt, KLS Contractors (dfwcolors.com), to help us with a remodel. We had short time frame to complete work which caused us to rush into hiring him. But he didn't ask for any money up front, and seemed nice enough, so we did. He was supposed to remove popcorn ceilings and retexture. We showed up on the day he was supposed to be finished with movers, and it wasn't close to done! I had asked him if it was going to be late and he had assured me he would finish on time. We were so upset, and wanted to fire him right then, but really wanted the work done. We should have trusted our instincts because the work was sub-par at best. The removal was fine, but when he textured he ruined our ceilings and everything attached to them; ceiling fans, lights, smoke detectors, light switches, electric plugs, the chimney, doors. You get the idea. He and his crew also used our personal things while we weren't there and smoked in the house and left cigarette butts everywhere. We had hired him on to do other remodeling projects before the ceiling was finished, and thank god he only did some demo work before we fired him. We ended up agreeing on a price to pay him for work he completed and to just clean up his *** and leave our house. He couldn't even do that right! He left demo garbage outside our house that the city wouldn't take, and we've been given a warning to clean it or be fined. So we've hired a new contractor based on family connections, and while it is costing us significantly more money to fish the house, the difference has been unbelievable! DO NOT hire Kenny Seaboltor KLS Contractors in the Dallas area! Learn from our mistkae, please do your homework, get references. And above all DO NOT hire Kenny Seabolt!!
