*** 2nd remote doesn’t work

I received a 2nd remote because my first one, only being with ROKU for two months, was eating through batteries every two &;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; 1/2 weeks. When I got the new one I followed the TV directions. Then neither remote worked. :-(. You need to unplug the ROKU from your TV AND from the power source. I know weird. :-/ Then start over.
