Bad Experience!!! Would NOT recommend.

Would NOT recommend this company. In August 2017, we used this moving company. My husband marked off the 17’ mark in the trailer with masking tape, so we would know when we’d reached capacity. Keep in mind the trailer is 9’ tall, so one must use a ladder to stack boxes/possessions if one wants to utilize floor to ceiling space. This is harder to do than loading a U-haul truck. Plus the ramp is higher (semi-truck height) to have to load possessions on. The ramp is also a grated surface (open ridges), so if you’re rolling something up the ramp, like a piano, which we had to load, it’s a struggle. It took four to get it up the ramp, and four to unload, which was actually dangerous. After we loaded everything, we knew we were over by two feet—remember the tape. When the driver came to pick up the trailer, he said he wasn’t going to even note the extra two feet. I will say the driver was very polite and nice. We had no problem with the driver who brought the trailer for us at the storage facility either. But then we didn’t get a final invoice from the home office, so we contacted them. When we finally got the emailed invoice, they had charged us for going over by four feet! When my husband told the woman how we knew it was over by two feet, she said they had taken photos and it was over by four feet. When he insisted she was wrong, she said she would pull the photos and look again. I called her a few days later, and she was nasty, telling me that since my husband had not returned her call from two days before that she thought this issue was finished. (We had just gone through a major move and hadn’t had time to return all of our calls!) I told her how I didn’t appreciate that we had never received an invoice, to which she replied that I hadn’t check my spam file. I always check the spam file. She said they would not adjust the bill, that photos don’t lie. I told her I was not paying a penny over what we owed them, which was for two additional feet of space. She would not relent, and I held firm. She then said she would charge us for three feet, not four additional feet. When I reiterated my position, she wouldn’t budge. I told her two things were going to happen: I was going to contact my credit card company and dispute the charges, and then I was going to post as many comments as I could on the Internet about our horrible experience with her and her company. That’s when she changed her mind and issued a refund for the two extra feet she was attempting to charge us for, adding that it wasn’t because of my threatening to post negative comments on the Net. Really? It might seem easier to have this company deliver your possessions, but I wouldn’t use them again. We’ve used rentals like U-Haul in the past, and their trucks are much easier to load and unload. You pay up front for the truck, know exactly how much space you have, have lower loading ramps, and have an easier time loading the truck. Save yourself a lot of grief and aggravation. Do it yourself and forget about this company.
