I can’t find my Fingerprint reader on my phone. It’s gone

I was making use of my phone and suddenly my fingerprint stopped working I thought mistakenly removed it but when I was to setting I couldn’t find the fingerprint censor icon it disappeared. Please I really need my fingerprint back. Thanks
