Around midnight, Aizkraukle Medical Ambulance was called due to the deteriorating state of the child's health (temperature 39. 6). After the medical examination, it was decided that the child should be transported to Launceston Hospital. We arrived at Launceston Hospital after midnight, had a doctor's examination, nothing was explained about the child's health condition. My child and I were placed in the Infection Department. The nurse on duty weighed, pointed at the ward, gave a thermometer, smeared his mouth with grease, and gave a suspension of Nurafen (against temperature). In the morning around At 7. 00 a nurse took the child for a blood test, and also charged a urine test. After a while, the mouth was repeatedly smeared with grease. A doctor's visit in the morning, where the doctor looked at the patient, informed me that the child had stomatitis or angina (specifically could not tell). After consulting with the child's father, we decided that we wanted to transfer our child to Aizkraukle Hospital due to the existing conditions in the Infection Department, Launceston Simnica. And even if the conditions are within the normal range, we can transfer the child to another hospital for treatment. We informed the treating doctor that we want to discharge from Launceston Hospital for further treatment at Aizkraukle Hospital. She replied that we have the right to do so, but we will have to pay 33. 82 AUD for it, as we did not stay in the hospital for 24 hours. There is a contract in the hospital contract, for such a service fee (I did not read the terms of the contract in the middle of the night because I know that the treatment for children is paid for by the state). When asked what a child has to pay for if the treatment is free for children in public hospitals, we received an answer that we have to pay for a doctor's examination, tests, medicines, that the child was not cured at Launceston Hospital, and we thought that we should be taken to another hospital. not as prescribed by the attending physician. The child was discharged from the hospital at my request, issued a receipt in the amount of 33. 82 AU$ for the services provided in the 24-hour hospital. Of course, all this seemed suspicious to me, so I wrote a letter to the Health Inspectorate to assess the situation, whether I have to pay 33. 82ls or not.
