Flight fare changed, asked to pay extra for fare and for baggage within 36 hours of flight

Thirty-six hours before my partner is expected to fly, and the "fare has changed" for the flight. I'm given a payment link to ensure the booking isn't canceled. I do this, I am in fact charged, and the booking still says canceled. I wait on hold forever for customer service, and when I finally speak to someone, I am assured what within 2-3 hours, I'll have the new booking. Six hours go by, and now I'm asked to PAY EVEN MORE, now for baggage. I do that, am charged again, and Travelgenio is still "searching for my booking." The website times out, and I'm still left with a canceled booking. No email correspondence to confirm either payment. It's just about 24 hours until the flight. My only choices are to keep paying this scammy website or book a last-minute flight for $600+ one-way. What a horrible company. Shame on you.
