Totally disgusted

1

I purchased the very cute pink Canon Pixma TS5230 and was having trouble downloading the software I needed to connect the printer to my new iMac. Through chat, I was instructed to leave my phone number so a tech could call me. The tech I spoke with said my firewall wasn't working and wanted to know why. I didn't know that info, so he dug deeper and displayed that my IP address was being used my 15 computers! Til this second, I don't know how. He said a computer tech could help me but for 99.00. I thought that sounded scamish so I didn't do it. I tell ya, my screen is still in that support log me in rescue download and it is like I can't delete it. I don't know what to do now. All I know is I am not happy with spending $591.00 on a printer to be going through something like this. I didn't have this issue with a little limited edition cinnamon colored HP printer I bought from Walmart for only $49.00! The set up process was smooth and the printer worked just fine. Im sitting here at my iMac trying to figure this new expensive one out and trust me, I will never purchase another Canon. Unt Uh.
