Used to be a good bank

I was a happy customer of Bank of the West for several years.I referred several family members and friends.I got $195 in over draft fees in the course of 12 days.I deposited my paycheck on the 16 th and they hold my check until the 27 th. Because of that all my payments were paid late,got interest rate raised,late fee penalties,my credit score went down.I had to ask family and friends to borrow money in order to pay for groceries and gas.My car battery died and have to ask for rides because it was already embarrassing to ask for more money to pay for it.I paid for my electricity and cell phone because even that the money was not released yet it was pending.I was dealing with enough situations,did not need my house with no electricity or to be in-communicated anymore.The bank charged me another $70 over draft fees.I contacted customer service several times and they direct to the local branch and the branch told me to contact customer service. I had enough and went to the bank to close the account and ask for $135 of charges back that were unfair because it was after I deposited my check and it was not my fault that they decided to hold it.Rent day was approaching and I could not trust them with my money anymore.I took most of the money out but was not allowed to close the account since there was a transaction pending. Roxanee offers to have the manager Michael of the branch call me later,at that moment I was a little hopeful that he would see that those charges were unfair.When he calls he was just advising me how to avoid these charges and said he can't do anything about it.I kept explaining that the last $135 were charged after I deposited my check that was still on hold.When I was trying to explain all that this situation has caused,and one of the topics was that my car battery died 5 days ago,and did not have anything available to get it,His response was to guy and buy the battery now so I do not have to ask for rides because my funds were available.Very unprofessional and lack of empathy on his behalf.Not sure what my options are now,I believe that a grievance with Federal Reserve and Business Bureau is the next step.
