The timeshare business is full of sharks. Not to mention over the top lies and manipulation. Then when you get suckered in you are stuck with this crap that is nothing like they sell it. Timeshares should be illegal, or make them short term deals and this will force companies to go back to customer service routes to ensure they keep their owners happy and they keep renewing their contract. But that is not the case. This industry is so wrought with fraud it is ridiculous and the government does nothing. There is not laws to protect the consumer, and if there was the companies are not following them and this is why if they were not allowed to do long term contracts until death and beyond anymore. First off, multiple sales reps hounded us for over 4 hours and told us this was such a "great investment", and we could trade our week all over the world at NO EXTRA COST. The Island Seas representatives did not explain that Interval is apart from the timeshare process and its fees. The experience was very unnerving and unsettling. The access to shopping and restaurants outside the share was very limited was extremely expensive, we felt we were being taken advantage of especially when we had to pay for a shuttle to get to a paid per person excursion. They also misrepresented all the work that was supposedly going to happen to make this resort Better. Which when we were there a certain portion of the Island Seas facility was blocked off due to construction there and the facility next to Island Seas so we believed them. In addition, there were bugs in our condo, particularly in one bedroom. We attended the sales presentation at Island facility in May 2013; the property was undergoing renovations. We were told during the sales preservation that the reservation would be done in about 6 months. Our first and only stay at Island Seas was in November 2014, there were minimal changes to the property and then to deal with bug infected condo is not right. We should have never allowed ourselves to be talked into buy this stuff. What a scam. This company should be held accountable for their claims seeing as people believe them. User's recommendation: DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.
