No prescription, no call

Mailed a prescription to Medco almost two weeks ago. Tried to call customer service on Saturday, got disconnected twice, never reached a human. Called today, finally got a human. Asked about prescription hold up, was told they couldn't read the prescription and couldn't reach the prescribing doctor. Claimed they could not read his phone number. Isn't the phone number printed on the prescription pad?? Asked why then, they hadn't bothered to contact me to let me know any of this. The representative could not give me a reason. He said "well, it says here you are eligible for automatic phone call notifications". I said, right, so why didn't they call? He didn't know. What if this were life or death medicine? How long were they going to sit on this?
