Lying and keeping my deposit

I ordered a tub to shower from Westshore about 3 weeks ago and no I did not cancel the order in 3 days but my husband lost his job and I called them to cancel the order since I could not afford $7,000 and I put $1,000 down on it. I called them to see if I cancel the order they said they've already cut the walls and started the job which they weren't supposed to install until late April but they would keep my size in dollars but I was told by Heather who came out of here and sign the contract that they cut the walls the day of installation right on your porch. So I know there'll are they did not start cutting the walls and getting everything ready for installation so there's no reason to keep my since I have a good reason for canceling. They wanted me to complete the installation and lower prices that I can't go into debt that bad when I don't know what's going to happen as far as my husband's employment
