Unprofessional and unkind behaviors.

My daughter was sent by her pediatrician today to the ER for IV treatment for peritonsillar Abscess. She is 19 and had driver herself. I arrived about 1.5 hours later and was happy to see that she was on IV antibiotic and steroid. She informed me that staff had been great and very nice to her. She told me she had asked for some pain medication. A new nurse arrived in with oral meds and my daughter said she was unable to swallow the pill. Nurse was rude and asked "so you requested pain meds and now what". I explained she was unable to swallow (thats why we were there). I asked could she have something through IV. She huffed off and arrived back with something to give through IV. I then asked what was the plan for my daughter and she told me she knew nothing about her and would send in provider. Provider arrived shortly and was very rude. Told me she had spoken to my daughter and used lots of hand gestures to ask why we were not communicating with each other. I explained that I just wanted to hear what doctor had to say as teenagers do miss some important information. It was terrible. She then told me that nurse had informed her that I was upset with treatment and had questions. She asked had I any other questions after very rudely telling me what was happening with my daughter. I said yes and asked why she was being so rude, I felt I had the right to ask questions about my child. She did say sorry but there was my daughter trying to defend me asking about medical information. This was very unprofessional behavior from both the provider and the nurse. I had no complaints about treatment I was very happy they had taken care of her so quickly. Our visit to the ER will likely cost us about 1300 out of pocket and I don't think I was being unreasonable by asking to speak to doctor. This was very upsetting to both my daughter and I and I will not be seeking their services again.
