Unending nightmare of incompetence

For nine months last year, Mercer Marketplace Discovery Benefits could not resolve a problem in their files that caused them to repeatedly, and by repeatedly I mean dozens of times, send me notifications that my insurance was cancelled. After eight months on the phone with them, after sending them check after check after check, they indeed cancelled my insurance for no reason whatsoever, and that is by their own admission. I have been a member of the same group plan for 19 years. They were completely incapable of solving the problem that they created and in the midst of a worldwide pandemic they canceled my insurance, completely in error, again by their own admission. And now, in January 2021, they have again started sending me notices that they have canceled my plan. I continue to be an active member of the same company-sponsored group plan. They are completely incompetent, and though many of the people are quite pleasant on the phone, especially the older people, their claim that "anyone on the customer service line can help you" is just a bald-faced lie. The stress that they caused me last year during a pandemic has compromised my own health, ironically. I am hiring a lawyer and I am starting a search for insurance independently on the open market place. I don't care if it costs more; they ruined my life. User's recommendation: Avoid them like you would covid-19.
