We like to refer to our Thursday nights as "Talabat Night". We have been ordering through the Talabat platform since it was established years ago. With years of service, you would think that a company that has been in operation for as long as Talabat has, would learn from its mistakes and make an effort to improve. Sadly, this is not the case and we have fallen victim to mishap after mishap with this sorry excuse of a company. The repeated mistakes are sometimes blunders that can be excused but the recurring incompetence demonstrated by Talabat Go and the Talabat customer service team as a whole is an issue that needs to be addressed. The restaurant should be held liable when an error is committed on their part. However, as soon as that order is out the door and in the hands of a Talabat Go driver, the responsibility of getting that order delivered on time and in a presentable/edible state rests with the driver. My order arrived tonight almost 2 hours after placing it through the Talabat platform. I followed up continuously with several different customer service representatives and was fed excuse after excuse as to why the order was late from "there's a lot of traffic" to "the driver is lost" to "the driver is just outside!". I should not have been surprised when the driver finally did arrive almost 2 hours later and handed me an open, unstapled, damp bag with its contents strewn throughout. Needless to say, the food was cold. The worst part, however, was spotting the delivery man slip his hand into the already open bag of food and help himself to some of my fries as he made his way down the corridor to my door. I handed the disheveled bag back to the driver and thanked him for coming out. I hope he enjoyed my dinner. At this point, I got right back on the phone to Talabat yet again to explain to probably the sixth customer service agent I had spoken to today that my order was delivered late, was not packaged properly, was cold and was being eaten by my driver! Talabat customer service agents are quick to throw out lines like "I am so sorry" or "I understand", but they are just useless words that carry little substance if nothing is done to rectify these errors that occur almost every single time I order food through their platform. The best part was when I got a call from a Talabat agent only minutes after filing a complaint with a previous agent, to let me know that my order that I placed over 2 hours ago is now on its way! Please do yourself a favor and order directly from the restaurant rather than putting yourself through the misery of having Talabat coordinate your order. By the time your food arrives (should you be fortunate enough to receive your order in full and not a half eaten moist bag of food), you will have already lost your appetite from having to follow up and deal with incompetent customer service agents. Following my horrible experience, I ask that you please do not accept any food delivered by Talabat Go unless it is properly packaged and sealed. Otherwise, prying hands may just treat themselves to your bag of food as if it were an invite to an open buffet
