I ordered two shelves online from the Ikea website on May 27. Order number is [protected], the item is Utrusta Shelf(2 pack), delivery charge $9.99. I have an existing closet system (not from Ikea) and chose these shelves due to the published size (24x14 3/4). The shelves were delivered yesterday and the size was only 22 1/2 inches wide so they are unusable in my closet. I called Customer Service and the representative told me that the size posted on the website refers to the size of the Ikea closet system, not the actual size of the shelving. This was not referenced on the page I was looking at and the rep agreed there would be no way I could have known this. I asked about returning, and he said I could take them back or ship them back for a refund. He said the original shipping cost would not be paid back to me. He said I could print a shipping label from the Ikea website and directed me to the location. When I initiated the return process I could not get a shipping label. I called customer service again and a different representative told me that IKEA no longer provides return shipping due to Covid. The only way to return was to pay for it myself or take it back to the store. This is unsatisfactory to me.
