Aurora Health Center - went for immigration exam and was told the cost would be $150 plus vaccinations by 2 different people. It turns out I need a blood-test, which the doctor said would be included in the price - I pay my $150 and went on my merry way. The next morning, I receive a call saying I need to pay $95 for a blood test, even though I was told it would be free as it's not a vaccine. After arguing for over an hour with the receptionist, who calls me a liar yet eventually accepts the fact they made mistakes, she said "Just come in and sign your papers, and we'll be finished." Great! I went in this morning and signed my papers, but was again hounded for the $95 despite having resolved the matter. The doctor then writes on my immigration papers, "Patient refused to pay for blood-test." This comment MAY impair my immigration chances...the receptionist tells me that the comment will be removed if I pay the $95 - even though she admitted they made the mistakes!! I'm pretty sure that's blackmail. Also a receptionist who wasn't even involved said to me and my husband, "If your husband truly cared about you, he'd have been in the examination with you and would know the whole story!" Wow. We left without paying and contacted our lawyer to see if this comment will screw up my immigration process. If it will, then we have to pay for their mistakes. The staff are rude, lazy and have no compassion. Avoid Aurora Health Center on Weston Ave, IL, at all costs!
