Update by user Nov 21, 2019 Travelsmart kept their word and refunded me all the money they had initially kept for cancelling. Original review posted by user Oct 22, 2019 We were enjoying a week at the Royalton Cancun, we had paid for the diamond club service and were very impressed. That is until asked to attend a membership sales pitch in exchange for $100 off our room charges. They promised the pitch would take 1 1/2 hours maximum. Seven hours later we were persuaded to sign as we thought we could have two luxury weeks a year at a Royalton Hotel for no more money then we actually budget for holidays per year. In reality, those two weeks may have cost us more and we may or may not have received upgraded rooms. On top of normal holiday costs accommodation and flights they wanted us to shell out £16,500. It was so vague as to what we were actually purchasing we decided to cancel 24 hours after signing. They made it very difficult for us, keeping us in a room for ages despite me repeatedly saying we were leaving that day and needed to sort the room out and get to the airport. We received no further information to explain what we were purchasing just the option to purchase one week instead of two per year for more than half the two week cost. I pleaded to the guy that i just wanted to cancel & go home to England. Eventually he left and someone came in to tell us we would have to pay $650 admin fees plus 15% of the deposit we had put down, around another $600. Daylight robbery! We only signed 24 hours before, we hadn't used anything and still they took all this money off us. Our holiday for my partners birthday was ruined.
