Profit over Service
2
I recently developed a heavy bronchial cough that generally hits me at least once a year and in the past the doctor I had with this service prescribed an antibiotic and a cough syrup without having to come in and pay a copay for it, but since the recent heavy turnover of doctors, I was told to come in first to see my latest assigned doctor. I explained that it would mean having to possibly spread this cough to other patients in the waiting room. After several replies over one weeks time back and forth on the online service, I was finally able to convince my doctor to issue the necessary prescription without the copay first. In the past few years this service has made profits a priority over any reasonably good service. It is causing a heavy turnover of both personnel and doctors with long waiting times and difficulty communicating by phone. I'm sure this service is losing patients due to increases in copay's, monthly instead of yearly membership fees that are increasing every year, heavy turnover of doctors, cutbacks in preventative home nursing services and long appointment scheduling times. I am finding after so many years with this medical service that even my patience is wearing thin.
