Pharmacy COVID vaccine
1
My local store (#6912, 3204 WILLIAMS DR, GEORGETOWN, TX 78628) posts that walk-ins are welcome for the COVID vaccine. I need a third dose because I am immunocompromised. I walked in last week and was told that I have to make an appointment. While I was standing in front of a sign that said they take walk-ins, they told me I have to go online to make an appointment. When I go online to make an appointment, the system has me log in to my Walgreen's account, stating that I don't have an email address. There is nowhere to enter an email address in your account page. It is my username and I get emails from Walgreens all the time. But I can't make an appointment online, and shouldn't need to, because walk-ins are welcome. I went back today to try again and was told to make an appointment online. I pointed out the signs saying walk-ins are welcome. I was told that's only for weekdays. On weekends, I have to make an appointment online. Again, I cannot. Related: there were NO PEOPLE in line for a vaccination. None. Nobody at this store has made any effort to assist me at any time (I've had two other issues with the pharmacy). Your web interface is terrible and prohibits getting the vaccine, and the employees at this store compound the problem. And they show no desire to help. I went down the street to CVS and they bent over backward to assist me. Since my insurance has converted from CVS Pharmacy to Walgreens, I've had consistent negative experiences. Meanwhile, my life is in jeopardy from COVID, but not one person at store 6912 would lift a finger to help. At this point, I'll actually pay extra to get prescriptions filled at CVS.
