Overcharging, Repressive Cancellation Policies
1
After receiving multiple mailings from Frontier advertising $40 monthly Internet-only service, I signed up and began receiving monthly bills of $72.45. Part of the overcharge is for rental of a router - even though I have my own, Frontier says I must pay the rental fee anyway. My efforts to resolve the discrepancy with Frontier failed, and tonight I went online to cancel my service. The company refused to cancel, stating that it just auto-renewed my contract for another year - without notifying me beforehand. They say I have to pay a $50 early cancellation fee, plus prorated service for an entire month, which just rolled over yesterday. This is outrageous and totally unacceptable. User's recommendation: Avoid Frontier Communications like the plague - before YOU get burned as I have.
