I am halfway through my degree at Baker College and my program is completely online. My experience with Baker Online has in general been a good one. The courses are tough and fast paced. It takes much dedication to make it through these courses and to do well. What I will complain about however is that the professors seem to care more about a few misspelled words and grammatical errors than they do the quality of the content you've worked so hard to produce. Of course as college students, we must learn to be professional and that includes typing well. But these professors are so anal about a misspelled word its ridiculous. Its also quite embarrassing that they will call you out on your simple errors on the discussion boards for everyone to read and see. How degrading. Not only that, but to not even mention the great quality of the work you have sent in is very frustrating. Ive been called out for using "i" instead of "I", a simple error that sometimes i cant control if im using my phone to write my discussion board, however, that seems to be far more important to the professors than the work you submit. Its beyond ridiculous and they need to focus more on the content of our work. I feel like im in high school due to this. If the instructors were to focus on the more important things I believe Baker College Online would be much better. Instead they are overly consumed with making sure everything is APA formatted and there are no spelling errors that I doubt they even check to see what students are actually comprehending in their course. I wish this is something the college could change. But i strongly doubt this will happen. I will survive the next two years I have with this College and will never look back. Could be so much better if they werent so petty and humiliating to some of the students for minute errors. Due to this, i'd give it a 3 star rating tops!
