Not water proof

1

I bought 2 pairs. Moab lightweight for easy hiking and another heavy duty hiking boot intended for cold weather hiking and hunting. I can't remember the model of the heavy duty boot. Both were supposed to be waterproof. Neither pair were. My feet got soaked the first time I wore both pairs in the wet. Both times it was less than a 1/2 inch of wet snow. They got soaked and the liners leaked on both pairs. I tested them in my kitchen sink to make sure it was not a wicking problem. They got soaked inside by dripping water on the toes. I called Merrill. They told me I had to take them back to where I bought them. I couldn't do that because I bought them while in Denver and I live in Spokane. I argued with them and was told."Well no boot is waterproof they are only water resistent." As I was being told this I am looking at the boot and it says waterproof right on the side of the boot. So I was basically told by Merrill to go screw myself. I will say they are very confortable boots. I still wear them when I know there is no chance of gwtting wet. Which is a problem because it limits me to warm weather use and the heavier boots are to hot for warm weather so I end up with wet sweaty feet anyway. As often as I use them they will probably last me for a long time.
