New phone and I can’t put no money on it it won’t let me

Ca can't get it to take this the money off of this paper that I got from where I bought it from the dollar store and it won't let me on this phone put the money on it cuz I got it when I got the phone please help me also it's got me on a Roman and I don't want to be Roman thank you
