New payment policy

The wife had surgery at VC and due to her deductible, we had a $3000 balance. We were more that willing to make reasonable payments to them, but were informed after the procedure that their payment policy had changed. They wanted 20% down, and a minimum of $200 per month. I told them we couldn't afford to make that kind of down payment now and probably couldn't afford the monthly either. They accepted a $100 payment from me, and I made two other monthly payments of $100.00. On the 4th monthly payment, their website said no money was due, so I called. They sent the balance to a collection agency. What a bunch of BS! I guess VC is mainly interested in patients who have a low or no deductible medical insurance coverage, or those that have lots of extra money. Stay away from VC unless you have one or the other.
