Maphre Insurance is unfair to the consumer

My wife paid Maphre $500. at the renewal deadline but began looking for a better quote as they had nearly doubled her premium after 1 year. They then send her a bill for $423. They claim it was because she cancelled her policy early. In other words, she owes them $923. for a month of coverage, when, even their increased annual premium would prorate to $208. per month. They then lied to us and said they don't have a consumer complaint department. We will inform every one we come in contact with to never do business with Maphre. We will be filing a complaint with the Massachusetts Insurance Commissioner regarding this practice. We will also be checking into any consumer protection statutes that would provide relief.
