Making an appointment they did not intend to honor
1
On 7/20/2021, Beaumont Beverly Hills Internal Medicine offered me a new patient appointment for 7/21/2021 at 7:40 a.m. The next morning, the computerized mybeaumontchart reminded me of that appointment, and offered e-checkin. I filled out the information and showed up at 7:40 am, only to find a locked door and a posted sign saying that the office opened at 8:00 a.m. I called the listed phone number, was transferred to the after-hours operator, and explained the situation. No resolution. After the doors opened at 8:00 a.m., I went in to check in. I was informed that since I had missed the 10-minute "grace period" for my appointment, the doctor would not see me. No other appointment was offered. So much for "patient-centered" care. If they knew they were not going to be open, why make the appointment at all? If they made the appointment, why didn't they either open to accommodate it or offer a means to get them to open up? Is this some kind of a joke? A means of raising patient blood pressure to increase business? Not funny.
