LEATHER SOFA CO-Toxic leather furniture

I shopped for several months to buy leather den furniture. Narrowed it down to 3 businesses. Told all the sales people my requirements: all components of furniture had to produced in USA, including tanning of leather in USA, (manufactured in USA). Leather Sofa Co has its corporate office, a showroom and manufacturing warehouse in Lewisville. I bought 3 pieces from the Inwood street location. I picked out a style from their inventory and picked out the leather from their hide samples. Same process of ordering furniture as the other furniture outlets. I chose Leather Sofa because it met the requirements I told the salesman and the convincing part "if there is any problems the company is in Lewisville and will take care of you right away." Their Lewisville location is where they assemble furniture. 4 weeks later new furniture was delivered to me. After the delivery crew left there was a horrible odor in my home. I started having physical ills from day one. My eyes were red itchy, throat was sore, headache, nauseous, lightheadness, and vomiting. This started the first night. I did not realize the seriousness of my ills until the following day. All my guests that came to my home complained about the smell and their itchy eyes. I've been to ER and doctor visits as a result of this toxic furniture. My doctor advised to stay away from this furniture. I informed Leather Sofa about this "odor" issue, but all they said was it was due to "gassing off" of the chemicals used during the tanning process. I visited their "manufacturing" warehouse in Lewisville and was escorted around. I noticed fans for circulating air and the overhead door being openi now assume for ventilation for breathing purposes. I was told while there they get all their leather hides from 4 countries in South America and a couple in Europe/Asia. The sales told me they were from inside USA. The USA laws are very strict about tanning, not so in other countries. Research explained how tanning process and chemicals used in other countries are toxic. After I was told the leather was foreign made and they keep it in cold storage until they are ready to use, Leather Sofa told me to store it either in my garage or storage unit until it completely gassed off and it could take couple of months or maybe up to 6 months. Was I supposed to sit on the floor?? I was very allergic to this toxic furniture. I was so disappointed because I was lied to by the salesman and it was what I wanted except for the physical illness it was causing. I asked them to pick up the furniture. They wouldn't do that. Then they informed me I could return furniture for a 40% restocking fee. Plus they weren't refunding sales tax nor the $250 warranty. I stayed away from my home, spending nights at my sons, limiting my exposure to the "gassing off", etc.; my symptoms cleared during those temporary periods. I've had leather furniture before and never had these health problems. The salesman told me this particular leather was on sale because it was discontinued. Since my purchase with this company I've discovered there have been other complaints against the same salesman lying to them. They now have the furniture back but at my expense...never got a full refund and paid to have it removed. I bought another set made by Klaussen out of North Carolina (100% leather tanned in USA) from Nebraska Furniture. Almost the same design as the one from Leather Sofa. I'm still fighting to get my money refund from Leather Sofa. I may sue them for medical bills.
