I need status of the flight and also ask why Pearson charged for the baggage’s

We had a flight on June 29, 2021 with Qatar airways and part of out flight was with Canada airline.Our suitcase were 25 kg but at the airport air Canada the charged us over weight for all our 3 suitcases for 300 dollar. Our flight was part of the ticket we bought from Qatar airways and we should have not paid any extra amount.
