Was sent an email email Friday at 7 pm saying, "Your trial is coming to an end and your membership will be extended for 12 months at $59.95." When I looked into canceling online, I found out that I had to either email or phone--their phone lines are only answered M-F 7am-5pm! Neither the email nor the website offer easy ways to cancel a membership. I took the only option offered: emailing to their email address. I received an automated response saying that the company would get back to me in 48 hours. Within hours, my credit card was charged. Like others, I did not (to my knowledge) sign up for auto-renewal, but must have been duped into it while signing up for a race. They give such short notice (the email) combined with no ability for recourse prior to the bill hitting. They intentional obfuscate the ability to cancel one's membership on line. Their training plans are elementary at best! I am better at setting my own training schedule. All of this leads me to think that this company is not an honest, reputable company. I will dispute the charge. I will report to anyone and everyone that I can what has happened. I am thinking of how to get the word out to as many people as possible? Runner's World--do they know about this? What about the event organizers that use this online service for signing up for events?
