For 2/1/2 years they haven’t put any money on car

I have paid 28,000 on this car and still owe them 16,000 they have been putting it on ins, it was to be paid off this July there saying I have to pay another year they have said I had two checks that didnt pay so I called the bank they say they havent sent a check back because I have over draft protected .
