Electrical issues with my 2016 Crosstrek
In April of this year I came home from a 3 week vacation only to find the my battery was dead. I called the dealer (vehicle under warranty) and they sent out a tow truck and they removed the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer said it was a bad battery and they replaced it. Fast forward to a week ago. I returned from a 17 day vacation. Once again, I attempted to start the car nad again the battery was dead. Both times the vehicle was completely shut down prior to leaving. My wife's 2014 Crosstrek started both time without any issue. After keeping my car on a trickle charger overnight it started right up that morning. I scheduled a appointment with Ganley of Wickliffe. Their conclusion was that there was no short, which is what I suspected, and the battery was fine. I was advised to keep the car on a trickle charger when leaving for any extended period! That this was just a "quirk with my car"!! I've owned probably 35 cars and trucks in my lifetime, from Freightliner Trucks to Porsches and Mercedes and everything in between and I have never experienced something like this and never expected to hear such a lame solution to the problem, Your thoughts and/or comments.
