Econolodge refused me a room that was already paid and now refuses to refund my payment

I reserved a room on 7/15/2021 at 9:00 pm, then arrived at 11:00. I waited in line for 35 minutes. I was told I would not get a keycard that the clerk was only going to unlock the room. I provided a copy of my drivers license and $100 in cash for a security deposit. Then I was told that I did not have a reservation and I would have to pay for another room. My husband showed the bank transaction to no avail. At that moment customer came out of his room stating there was a bug in his bed and he couldnt lay his head there. I left the premisis and drove an hour to find another room. Now they refuse to give me a refund even though THEY refused me the room that I paid for. User's recommendation: DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!
