Disappointment in table purchase

We purchased a dining set in early May 2021 from Ashley Furniture Homestore in Baxter MN. This week I have noticed the top is 'chipping' off in several areas. The table top has only been wiped with a damp cloth after we have used it. It appears the veneer is paper thin and just flakes off. We spent good money on this set and needless to say, I am very disappointed in this purchase.
