Charged for stay when hotel hotel cancelled my reservation

I booked 2 rooms for 4/22-4/25 2021 and was contacted the week before my stay that the hotel would not be open. Due to a plumbing issue and their inability to get the repairs completed they cancelled my reservations. I checked my card and I had not been charged and they assured me I would not be. Fast forward to 6/9/21. Both rooms are charged to my credit card. I contacted the hotel for 2 days no answer. Obviously they are still not open. So now I file a dispute with the credit card company and the hotel has until 8/7 to respond. Mind you my credit card bill is due 7/20 User's recommendation: Don’t book with this company.
