A big Buck Kangaroo hit the side of my car. I went to Jones Smash Repairs in Charleville, their quote was that the car was a repairable write off. There is no mechanical damage, no structural damage only panel damage yet they quoted $8000 au for repairs. The car was insured for $8000 and the quote included parts to cost $3000 leaving $5000 for paint and labour. To respray the whole car would cost about $3000, so amazes me what they are actually charging for paint and their Labour just to spray and replace Panels? I found the genuine parts to come to $2000 and the Spray job to approx $1500 maybe. I received no copy of the quote, they didnt even talk to me to discuss the Quote. The Insurance Company was quick to accept the Quote without their own inspection and wrote the car off. Now the car is on the write off registry, now unregistered, so i am out of funds, out of a car. No one to date has or is Listening to me on my dispute in this matter.
