Kilowatt Reduction Group Scam-My Comments 07/06/2011 Since I posted my last warning on these pushy sales-***, I have been contacted by several homeowners as well as new sales rep-trainees seeing many red flags and evasive responses to questions about financing and other issues addressed to Larry Gapko, one of the owners now operating out of temporary offices in Dallas and San Antonio. One rep. was precipitously fired for asking too many probing questions of him and sharing his concerns with fellow trainees.I expect to be receiving hard copies of the homeowner's "Purchase Agreement" with "KRG, LLC" with an address of 800 IH 10 West, Ste 600 (??), San Antonio, Tx 78230 with a slippery 855 area code phone no....855-499-**** to fwd to Tx Attny General GregAbbot, the FTC, BBB, etc, as well as sales- rep agreements, etc. There are several co'.s using the initials KRG that have no relation to them...their KRG reportedly stands for "Kilowatt Reduction Group, LLC." , yet another new business corporate name similar to the 15 others they have been using over the past year in Texas listed here under a previous posting.All homeowners have told me that they totally IGNORE any state or federal consumer protection requirement of the 3 Day Waiting /Right of Contract Rescission (cancellation) law, and did not see this stated on their contract (which may well be illegal in itself), they push to start work within a day or two, and may be operating illegally without waiting for any local city building permits, tell them they are not needed, etc. They also blatantly refuse to abide by "Do Not Call" lists, claiming they are "not trying to sell you anything""....these are clearly what can be characterized as lying sleazeball-sales sluts working out of a boiler-room operation which could easily disappear overnight, if necessary; make no mistake about it.There is a very good chance that this is just another front co. for "Go Green Marketing Solutions of Texas" whose owner/registered agent in Houston is Keith McDonald. He , along with Larry Gapko, and a Richard Woodall, were all part of a previous scam/boiler room operation in Florida , orig, called "One Stop Solar Heating", then "Saving America's Energy Association", and roughly 15 other similar names and carbon-copied websites since then with NO physical addresses given, NO "showrooms", etc. They called their product "Eko-Wrap", "SolaFoil", etc.Looks like they run their financing/homeowner's credit thru "GEMB" (General ElectricMoney Bank) for approval. There is a business listed as "Kilowatt Reduction Group" with no phone listing in Stafford, Tx described as a "non-classified investment and holding co, counselors, consultants" Not yet sure of the connection, if any….I have established a link between them and a local A/C co. in nearby Stafford, Tx. whom they (Kilowatt Reduction Group) are using as their local address and registered agent, WITH OR WITHOUT that manager/owner's permission.I "criss-crossed" the physical address and discovered there is another company at the same address and suite no. called "Ultra Services" with an office manager (and possible owner's) name as Alex M. Kelly. The BBB lists them as "air conditioning, insulation contractors/energy conservation products & services" and lists "Saving America's Energy Association" as a "Related Business". (The previous Houston scam operation name) However, "Ultra Services" appears to be a legitimate, licensed,established business; not yet sure how they are connected with the scammers yet,perhaps they are unaware of their history or are just being played as a "front" withouttheir knowledge or permission. Their phone number is 281-499-**** . As expected,the Texas State Comptroller has no phone listing nor officers listed for the corporationcalled "Killowatt Reduction Group", (see below) but does show the physical business address of THIS business (Ultra Services). They have a website, www.ultraservices.com The scammers pulled a similar act in Florida re: where they lied about having a "showroom" at an address which I believe was also an A/C co. that never heard of them, no showroom was ever found there.This may be another attempt to feign "legitimacy", at least for those who don't look beneath the surface. Also, I found this on a Google search on Larry Gapko, though the link appears to be old: sales/biz dev/jobs - san antonio - Texas - CraigsList Mobile Browserlarry gapko scam. He was run out of Florida , Houston and Dallas because of his antics. Larry Gapko is still at the number you mentioned in your post, 407-408-****, and I can with great certainty tell you they are the same people that operated the company "Go Green" and others...although, when I turned in my demonstration package on Tuesday, July 6, he denied any affiliation or connection with 'Go Green' when I asked him. Their current operating location is 1140 Empire Central Dr Dallas, TX 75247, Suite 450, (they moved las week from suite 640) and their 'Purchase Order' forms show an address formerly on IH635...they have financing set up through GE and are still selling the notes for quick cash, a statement that Chris MacDonald made to a group of us in training. I was fired for questioning their marketing misrepresentations, their heavy-handed sales pitches, the wasteful dispatching schedule they were assigning to me, a schedule that had me driving 50-80 miles a day and finding no one home at supposed schedule time, or dispatching late in a way that was setting me up for failure. As a former 1099 sales rep, I have first hand exposure to conversations concerning a number of practices that seem to support your allegations: 1. "KRG" may not be in compliance with both Texas and Federal contract law on home energy improvement construction 2. "KRG" were/are beginning work either without or before a city permit is approved, typically the same day or the next day 3. evidence of intrusive unsolicited robo-calls, and unscrupulous, deceptive, and questionable business & marketing practices to homeowners 4. deceptive energy audits pressuring homeowners into contracts which may very well violate several consumer protection/contract laws and more...I advise caution in dealing with these people as they seem capable of vanishing instantly as there is very little in the way of furnishings in the small office they occupy, facilitating rapid relocation, and have moved within the last 2 weeks. I also caution you as Chris MacDonald threatens, slanders and fosters illegal actions that caused harm to my character, and could cause harm to other employees and to the welfare of homeowners. But they are not stupid, and are most assuredly well aware of the legal implications of what they are doing, and I assume they have lots of cash on hand and an excellent escape plan. As you probably know, individuals, owners and employees, are protected when the corporation is sued, and it is perhaps the business practices and statements of these individuals that willl be difficult to prove without more witnesses. if there is anything I can help with, please contact me at the number below.
