Sunday morning while it was still dark February 2 approximately 5:30 AM we had car trouble the vehicle was parked off the road luckily, I walked in 20 weather with high wind no gloves to the Marathon gas station in Georgetown Square Fort Wayne Indiana at Maplecrest and State Street. Needless to say me and everybody else involved were very cold that morning. I asked the clerk if she had a gas jug she said she didn’t. Gas jugs are almost $10 with tax I preferred since it was moderate distance to walk back and check the vehicle for something. At this point I was still in a very positive and happy morning to start the day. To no avail I found something in the vehicle. Great I thought. I walked back in a positive nature put the jug by the gas pump walked in to pay so I could continue with my morning. The clerk was standing at the cash register to greet me I went to hand her the cash at the register I kindly requested 1 gallon of gas only. A older gentleman approached me from the back with an unnecessary look and glare. And rudely asked me if I am in line. Not knowing what he was talking about I turned to my left and told him yes I am in line then looked at the clerk. She gave me a totally blank stare. She left her two customers to work this out amongst themselves. He was standing to the left of me window shopping when I approached register so I paid him no attention as he was not checking out. I responded to him, you were standing over there when I approach the register, he arrogantly snickered, pointed at a white lotto ticket on the counter and said “that’s my ticket”. I quietly backed up let them continue the window shopping and lotto ticket shopping spree he was on. When the other customer exited the store I approached the attendant and asked her if that is standard customer procedure. At that point she took both hands lean on the inside of the counter backed her feet up about two steps leaning in at an angle, and said, “I am the manager” with a smirk. I then told her great, “I’m speaking to the person that I should be speaking to“. She apparently didn’t like that. I told her when there is a car emergency down the street in the dark that people could be sitting in a cold vehicle that is precedent to peoples window shopping in the other portions of the establishment. She had no response she didn’t apologize. Nothing. I was left to gather my gasoline and walked back in the cold to an automotive emergency. This is ridiculous behavior on her behalf. When there is an automotive emergency you should be telling windowshopping lottery customers to get their things gathered and bring them back when they’re ready to step in line and leave the rest of the world get on with their day or night. That’s the way a thinking manager thinks. Not a smug egotistical *** that has no business being in the position she was handed. I own a business and have a crew of 3-10 people depending on the season. THAT Person would be pulled from my crew IMMEDIATELY. Out of fear of some sort of future legal or financial issue caused on their behalf. Since were on the subject, maybe marathon could be the first petroleum establishment to come up with a new check out idea, people who are ready to check out should be able to enter the register pay for their needs and move on. Lotto tickets and window shoppers should gather their things and be prepared when they enter as well. All of society knows this pain, and we are all fed up THIS!!! We have things to do, some being emergency in nature, or kids in the car, clerks, let alone store managers should have the common sense after seeing a stranded customer with car issues not once but twice to tell a window shopping Lottery customer to step aside so the auto emergency can be handled and get that person out the door ASAP. NOT pompous rude behavior. Please pick up a new way of handling this. Please feel free to investigate everything in this review down to the temperatures the wind, the video the look on my face, her stance after coming back the second time, the whole 9 yards is 100% honesty.
