Attempt to have Fitbit give an opinion on repairing their “Inspire” step-counting and health device purchased as a gift for my wife

The pinhole on the device itself broke; its made of plastic, and, therefore the device itself cant be worn as a bracelet, the way it was intended to. We contacted Fitbit Customer Service and were told to submit pictures, an explanation of the problem, the serial number of the device and a written statement from my wife with her signature to Fitbit. She got back a reply that Fitbit was no longer offering service by email-despite requesting the info noted above (which did NOT come back undelivered). What gives? User's recommendation: Don’t buy anything made from plastic which is almost guaranteed to break at some point in the future. Fitbit’s response is shameful.
