9 Months to Process A Claim
1
Copy and pasting my review over from Yelp. -- Honestly, you're better off having NO health insurance than Fidelis. In March of 2020, I had two urgent care visits for a persistent cough. I paid the already ridiculously high co-pay for the visits, and go on my way. I get a bill from Fidelis telling me that I'm expected to pay $526 per visit, but each visit only cost $330 after the co-pay. I still don't understand how I could've been responsible for more than the visit cost. After spending MONTHS trying to get a straight answer out of both Fidelis and this urgent care, I was told that the final total for both visits was roughly $200. "You're sure it's for both visits?" I asked the young man on the phone (I think his name was Thomas but this was in May of 2020, so god only knows what his name was). "Yes, the amount of ~$200 is for both Urgent Care visits." "And when I pay this, I'll be all set?" "Yes, of course." Phew, I thought, thinking that $200 was certainly a lot less to pay than $660. So I paid and that was in June of 2020. In March of 2021, I got a bill for the second visit from the Urgent Care for over $400. So, I did the normal thing and called the Urgent Care first. I told them that I didn't understand how I was being billed for something I'd already paid for. "It's not us," they informed me. "Fidelis didn't finish processing your claim until December, and now we have to bill you based on what they sent us. You only paid for the first visit." That's correct--it took Fidelis NINE MONTHS to process a claim, and contact the Urgent Care. Was I contacted at any point? No. Of course not. So now I have to scrounge up money to cover a bill that I wasn't expecting to pay because I'd been under the impression I was all settled because Fidelis TOLD ME I was fine and they took 3/4s of a year to settle a simple Urgent Care claim. User's recommendation: Run away from Fidelis. Don't walk.
