Had a leak in master bath. Thought it was coming in around a piece of vinyl siding that had fallen off. Found out real quick it was the roof leaking, running right out of my bathroom light fixture. Crew came out to fix it and after walking on the roof the construction company and insurance inspecter said it's the nails used to put on the shingles. They are working out and in turn causing the shingles to raise up enough to allow rain in. The construction crew asked had we ever nailed a tarp on it - NO. had we nailed any of the shingles backed down -NO they said the nailing job wasn't good at all. What I thought was going to be a small job [protected]$) is now going to be a 4-5000$ Or more, new roof. The roof is actually squishy feeling in many places. This roof is 13 years old. I have a shop building that is almost 30 years old and the roof still doesn't leak. The shop roof actually had a 20 year warranty on a $8, 000 building. I love my home but this has really upset me. Has there been any recalls or complaints on the roof such as this.
