Buy locally?

In July we ordered an expensive bedroom set from Mobilia. It was manufactured by a Quebec company, Eureka. Delivery was expected early in October. When it finally arrived at the end of October the bed was missing! We were told there was a problem and the bed would not arrive until mid November. As a senior with back issues I was not happy sleeping on the floor and Mobilia arranged for delivery earlier in November. The bed arrived with a.long prominent scratch on the headboard.The packaging was unmarked and it is almost certain it was shipped in that condition which could not have gone unnoticed. Back it went! The irony is that we decided to purchase locally despite higher prices to support our struggling manufacturing sector. Encouraged we are not.
