Browsing privacy doesn’t work. Also, changed my settings to access cloud & sync my files without me knowing

I paid for the better version (the lesser of 3 paid options) rather than the free version, specifically for phone and laptop browsing privacy. I also never set up cloud access on my laptop, because I prefer to store files only ON my computer. Since purchasing Bitdefender, I keep getting messages that all my files have successfully synced, and are available on the cloud. I close the OneDrive (cloud access program), but it periodically opens and syncs again. In addition, I spent a few days car shopping on my laptop. All I see now on my laptop AND my phone, are ads for cars. Also, many aspects pf Bitdefender ask you every time if you want to open and use them- like VPN. Half the time I've already started browsing before I get a window asking to connect to VPN. If only it had asked me if I wanted to access OneDrive before spilling all my files into the universe. I would not recommend this to anyone. Wish I knew where to post this for maximum effect. In addition, got very poor response from customer service chat when I was concerned about all the permissions the program was asking for in order to run. The rep said, don't worry about it, it's for your own protection- without addressing any of my specific questions.
